Our vehicles are maintained to the very highest of standards and all hire agreements include registered breakdown service with the AA or RAC.
All prices include comprehensive insurance and VAT and rental duration can be tailored exactly to your needs with daily, weekend, weekly and longer contract hire rates available.
Payment can be made by: Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Maestro, Solo.
Daily hire 9.00am until 8.30am
or from 4.00pm until 3.30pm (Not available on Fridays).
Half day hire 9.00am until 3.30pm
or from 4.00pm until 8.30am (Not available at weekends).
Each of our rental agreements can be tailored to your requirements. For example, policy excess can be reduced through payment of a waver fee at time of booking/collection.
All our vehicles are diesel, ensuring fuel economy is one thing less to worry about.
We have Child Seats, Booster Seats and Sack Barrows all available for hire. Roof racks can be fitted to some vehicles at £6 per day or £15 per week.

The name J.D.ROBERTSON & CO. LTD has been located in Colchester and has been associated with: CAR HIRE, MINIBUS HIRE, COMMERCIALS VEHICLE HIRE and ENGINE RECONDITIONING for more than 75 years.
Mr John Robertson, Managing Director has run the company for more than 45 years after inheriting from his farther, in this time the company has grown rapidly and has been increasing its fleet of vehicles every year.
Our fleet of self drive hire vehicles comprises of some 50 x CARS, 25 x CONNECT VANS, 85 x TRANSIT VANS, 25 x LUTON VANS, 30 x TRANSIT TIPPERS, 40 x 17 and 15 SEATER MINIBUSES which are all equipped with roof racks and tow bars, 11 x MPV and 20 x 7.5 Ton Box Vans.
These vehicles are well maintained and serviced by our strong team of fully trained Auto Engineers.
We also have a subsidiary company called Trace Autos at Morse Lane Trading Estate, Brightlingsea, of which we have worked alongside for more than 20 years.

We are able to offer comprehensive self drive hire prices, which are regularly checked againstthe local market, all prices include VAT, comprehensive insurance, breakdown cover and windscreen cover for all our vehicles is available at an extra cost of £3.00 per day or £15.00 per week.
